SOMETHING WENT WRONG - can't log in to Account or Vault

Currently unable to sign in to Norton Password Manager. Was having trouble with simply opening the vault previously, signed out and tried to sign back in... now I can't sign into my account either.

Error message: Something went wrong, please try again later.

Tried resetting my password, does not fix issue. Tried re-installing extension in Chrome, no fix.

Also cannot log in on my phone app but I CAN log in on this website and apparently the desktop software as well. What gives?

Got similar problem, except I don't get any error message, it just returns me to current tab. It don't even ask me for the password, just offers the button to open the vault.

Local app is working, except I noticed it says that my internet security is NOT setup. It's been setup forever, what's happening Norton?

I have the same problem. Was ok last night but now I can't open my vault.

I'm running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit v1909 fully up to date. My browser is Firefox (64-bit), which updated from v76.0.0 to v76.0.1 this morning, but I've tried using Chrome and that doesn't work either.

I tried removing the browser add-on and then re-installing but it didn't fix the issue.

Looking for a fix from Norton.

same here.  started today.  When I try to open it (from Chrome) it asks me to login to my norton account.  but it doesn't matter whether I am logged in or not,   it still asks me to log in and takes me to the Norton login page.    

Happening with MS Edge too.  next in line with Norton support chat.

I cannot login from my android device.  Changing my Norton password did not fix the issue.  Reinstalling the app did not fix the issue.

Same here, unable to login on Firefox, Brave or Mobile - tried much of what others have posted here as well - what did Norton mess with now...

When I last had a problem like this a month or 2 ago, I stumbled across a solution: Deleting all the Norton cookies in Firefox. Alas, I tried this again today but it didn't work.

answer from norton support is:  "My apologies for any inconvenience caused. Do not worry, it is an ongoing issue and we are aware of it and I request you to wait for 24 hours and it will resolve automatically.   Please do not worry, our team is working on it and it will be fixed soon. Your patience would be highly appreciated in this matter."

So I'll try again later this afternoon.

Add me to the list.  I am running latest version of Firefox on Windows laptop.  Everything worked fine last night. If I open Norton on my desktop and try to open the vault, it takes me to "https://identitysafe.norton.com/csp_vaultaccess.html" but the screen remains blank.  Now I'm sorry I don't have a hand-written list of my passwords like in the "bad old days"!

Until just now I couldn't even logon to Norton to report the problem.  Apparently server doing authentication was down or otherwise not working.  Hopefully Norton Password will start working soon.

Behavior has changed slightly.  Now when trying to login to the vault via Edge, the browser goes to https://cloudconnect2.norton.com/cloudconnect/home/loadplugin and displays Error id: 48c646c5-c726-4822-8981-27451ad84c94

I had just finished a Windows 10 update and then this hit. I said oh s--t, not another MS screw up. 

I am able to open my vault through Norton 360 but not through any Browser.

Just checked another PC that has not been updated today and same problem. So this time it is NOT MS.

Mine, on MS Edge acts same as Chrome. Offers button to open but never asks for password and just returns me to the current tab. Windows 10 w/latest updates.

Same Problem here.  Log in to the account: Error Message. Log in to password manager: Nothing.

Again? Had similar problem with password manager a while back, couldn't sign in. You can't reset password on password manager so Norton solution was to uninstall and reinstall password manager. You lose all your saved logins and passwords and must repopulate the entire catalog. Top Notch.,

All: FWIW!! I have also duplicated the issue being seen. No access to the vault nor my account login. I will escalate to the Admins and dev team for an answer on the behalf of everyone. Please bare with things for a bit. 

Edited: I have ALL my machines locked down, NO WINDOWS UPDATES!! This is apparently a backend issue of some sort. Hope to hear something soon.

OMG!

Norton password manager was the worst purchase i've ever made. It never works properly for more than a month. When my paid license expires i will definitely change to LastPass or somewhere else.

Use the local app on  windows or Mac, it still works fine. And not to worry, passwords are NOT lost!

Jim,  This may be a strange question, but how do you open the vault through Norton 360 without using a Browser?  Norton support through their Facebook page told me to clear my cookies and cache and see if the vault works, and I stupidly did it. Now I can't sign back onto FB because I can't remember the damn password. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

I've tested all three browsers for the issue, have duplicated on IE11, Edge Chromium and Opera GX w/chrome extensions.

Me too- And its imperative I access accounts for business.  I never had so much problems with a product in my entire life.   Norton was one of tos super bad decisions I made this year.  Not user friendly or efficient.  It has caused me so much worry.

I dont even know how to resolve, although all Norton says is wait 24 hours....   Again......

Another dumb question -  how do you "use the local app on Windows"? If I can get into vault, at least I can make a list of my passwords so I can function until the problem is eventually fixed.  Thanks.

Same issue here. iOS, Android, multiple web browsers on PC. Appreciate everyone's notes. Saves the 50 minute wait to chat with an agent. Hopefully fixed soon. Had access for a few seconds around 11:45am PST then not recognized by password manager nor able to login to account. Best wishes to all.

Same issue here!  I can access it on Norton UI and vault opens but will not launch on website as Vault password screen fails and will not open in Chrome.  I tried turning off Ext. in Chrome and then adding it again.  Nothing worked.  Norton should not have this issue ever with a Vault.  I never use the Password Generator for this very reason! I come up with my own passwords so I never get locked out of my important sites.

I wondered the same thing. I figured "down detector" wouldn't apply since the site is up, but I expected that Norton's own status page would tell the truth so at least I wouldn't waste an hour trying to remove extensions, research the issue, clear my cache, restart my computer, change my password, etc etc etc

In short, Norton, UPDATE YOUR TRACKER or make a public announcment if you expect to run an On-Demand service like Password Manager. It's not like I am just trying to update my virus definitions, I'm trying to GET IN MY BANK ACCOUNT

Open Norton and go to Internet Security and click on Password Manager.

You need to sign in to Norton 360 first and then the vault.

Just was able to sign in on 360. It shows all of 6 logins, some I deleted days ago. Starting to get a bad feeling on this again. Think I've about had enough of Norton

Maybe this will help everyone else (like me) who is panicking since we can't remember our passwords.  I was finally able to get into my vault by following the instructions on this link "https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v80684480".  Once I got into the vault, I WROTE DOWN ON PAPER all the passwords I need to function temporarily online.  Pretty sad situation when you learn to depend on a password manager and have to go back to pen and paper to save your passwords!

Not here. Password manager directs to Norton Account log in and from there an endless loop to finally an error message.

The problem seems to be resolved now. I would hope that we can expect this to not happen very often and it seems to be a server issue of some kind?

If I could recommend something to the Norton team, it may be helpful to have a ticker with status updates that reflect when users are having issues logging in. Saves us from swimming around the web trying to find solutions, resetting passwords, and the like.

Indeed. The vault issue has been resolved, all three browsers function properly with the vault login. However, I still cannot log into my Norton account via browser and through the Norton UI.

Thanks but the issue seemed to be on the Norton side. Many of us reporting the same problem and it wasn't due to us not being logged in. In fact, I couldn't log in at all. Same applied to the android app login. 

All fixed now anyways.

I was having similar issues with the Android login a few minutes ago. Not sure if you're on the browser or the app. I closed the app completed and reopened it and it logged me in finally. Might be worth clearing your temp browsing files, close the app/browser and try again now.
