Stop Logins From Going Into Categories

I have the latest Norton 360 which only stores my logins in the cloud.  For some reason, suddenly I find that my logins have been moved to categories that I had nothing to do with.  I do have quite a few logins but, would prefer to not have categories and just see them all without the categories.  How can I eliminate the categories set up automatically by the cloud??

Thanks,

Dave

Hi Dave,

I'm going to guess that you have done an inplace upgrade from the earlier version of 360 which had this feature. I'm also going to guess that you are still using a local vault [which is no longer available]. If you want everything in a simple list I'm guessing that you can save all of your identity safe data, delete your old vault and create a new one into which you can restore your data. This would give you a single vault in the cloud.

Hope this helps. Do keep us posted

Re: Stop Logins From Going Into Categories

Not the answer I am looking for.  I did originally upgrade from a previous version where logins were stored on my computer.  At first I kept that option but, then I somehow moved to a cloud vault.  I then had issues at support helped me reload my Norton 360, V20.2.0.19 and for awhile, my logins showed as individual logins, a very long list.  I added some logins and suddenly most of my logins showed up in categories.  I want to see all the logins in alphabetical order and eliminate the catagories.  I've tried going into edit logins where it says I can edit catagories and I can only add new catagories and not eliminate them.

Is there any way to eliminate the catagories??  I'm thinking that perhaps I can delete all of the logins and then import the file I saved with most of my logins a week ago or simply import the saved list and say replace rather than merge??  I merged and perhaps that caused the issue??

Thanks,

Dave

Re: Stop Logins From Going Into Categories

Tried importing my passwords and had two issues.  A saved file that I did not password protect I tried to import and 360 came back and asked for a password.  Figured I could us my vault password but, there was no way to enter any data in the password block so I went in and again exported my passwords and did not say to enter a password and I was able to import them and replace what was there and again I got the dreaded categories.

I'm plumb out of ideas and have no clue why my backup file is password protected as I am 100% sure I didn't set a password and even if I did, I cannot enter a password in the appropriate box that is asked for????

Re: Stop Logins From Going Into Categories

Hi DavidWeiman,

This was new feature introduced with 2013 products. This feature automatically categorise logins based on their category and Domain.

If you don't want to autocategorise the logins then click on "Settings" link from Norton Internet Security Main UI.

Click "Web" -> Click "Identity Safe" -> Click "Configure" link pertaining to "Browsing Options" and Uncheck "Autocategorize Logins" check box.

Re: Stop Logins From Going Into Categories

Well, first of all I am not using Norton Internet Security but, am using Norton 360 so I don't know what you are talking about in your below response.  Have no clue what norton Internet Security Main UI is??   I did go to settings in Norton 360 but, do not see any of the links you mention.  Perhaps it is because I am unable to log into my vault and therefore don't have all the options available.  I keep getting an error message that the server has timed out and to check my internet connection.  I am well connected as I couldn't be writing this message if I wasn't .  I've logged in and out of my account and still can't get to my vault.  Also did not get an e-mail that you had responded.  Please help.  Have no clue what is going on.  Was logged in to my vault when I shut down my computer last nite and can't get on this morning??

Thanks,
