SUBSCRIPTION STATUS: Active crashes norton

So if i click on the green Active link next to SUBSCRIPTION STATUS: at the bottom of norton security and backup im prompted with a debugger

Norton Security with Backup has stopped working

[Content]
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

[Debug] [Close program]

and if i cancel the debugger norton crashes and does not start up again. dont really want to try debugging because the program that wants to debug it is microsoft visual studio... which doesnt seem like a program that should debug programs...?

Is my security at risk or something? something like this does not seem normal...

also upon generating a system health report through windows 7 advanced tools it seems to think i dont have an antivirus even with norton clearly saying im protected in the task bar.

UPDATE: when i went back and tried to check which version of microsoft visual studio was trying to debug norton (it had a specific type of task in its name) norton did not crash and told me my subscription is good. which is odd because i had checked the crash method of pressing Active about 5 times before...

Hi, Ekoto. It might be worth running the Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool, as you may have a corrupted install.

If used please read the Before you begin note and run Live Update after until no more are found, then reboot.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view. Windows 10 Pro 64 bit Norton Core Security Plus 22.17.3.50 Core Firmware 282 I E 11 Chrome latest version.
