Suspicous Web Page Message while working within CLIO.COM

I need a solution for a suspicious web Page message I am seeing while working within this cloud-based law practice management software (Clio.com).  When I select the option to go to the site anyway, it logs me out of the service.  There is only one SPECIFIC data entry screen where this occurs while all other screens are working without issue.

How do I get this resolved?

Bruce.

Re: Suspicous Web Page Message while working within CLIO.COM

Hello Bruce S

Could you please post a screenshot of the blockage that you are seeing.? The Clio.com site itself shows a Green OK. If the site is being blocked, that page may be malicious or it might not be. Seeing a screenshot would help to identify what is blocking it and also just where it is being blocked. Normally, if one page of a site is blocked, then the whole site would be blocked.

Thanks.

What makes you say it's suspicious? Is the URL not right? I just visited and click login. It brought me to a secure login page. Nothing wrong that I see.

I have an update to when this message pops up........can be on any screen within the website and randomly when scrolling with the mouse wheel.

Just click "visit this web page anyways" which will allow you in. It's a false positive. I would also highly recommend switch to a more secure browser such as Google Chrome.

Thanks for the suggestion and yes.....I have done that but it auto logs me out of the site and have to log back in each time it happens.

Re: Suspicous Web Page Message while working within CLIO.COM

"Suspicious Web Page" means that there is something about the page that has characteristics resembling a phishing site, probably some forms on the page where you would enter information.  It is not a confirmed phishing or malicious site, so I agree it is probably a false positive which you can ignore in view of the fact that you are familiar with the site and know it to be legitimate.  To avoid being logged out, you might try temporarily disabling Norton Safe Web protection while using the website.

@Bruce:

1. Clio's homepage is OK when running Norton Toolbar.

2. Currently I cannot reproduce your comment re using app.clio.com/matters ("Clio Payments is available to subscribers of our Loyalty, Boutique, and Elite plans.")

Then, plz run LiveUpdate to get the most recent Norton updates

Then, plz try:

  • temporarily disable Fast Startup if U are using a Windows 8 or newer computer
  • rechecking the above URL after you have your system rebooted.

Thanks and luck! :)

Re: Suspicous Web Page Message while working within CLIO.COM

Thanks for all the good responses.  I know that the basic website is rated GREEN by Norton Safeweb but there must be something within the site's pages or forms that triggers this alert periodically.  It sounds like this is going to be something I will have to live with if I continue to work in Internet Explorer which I only do because Identity Safe Won't work in Windows Edge.  I will see if Google Chrome works any better later this week.

Thanks for the assistance.

Bruce.
