Yes, we wouldn't want any Symantec security software to connect with any Symantec servers, would we?  You are aware that backend servers are a crucial component of Norton's ability to identify malicious software and other threats in real time, yes?  Since you are entrusting Norton to keep your PC safe, I am not understanding what risk you are seeing in connections to Symantec.

Hello

Of course you had to disconnect your network to stop Symantec from protecting you. After all, I do believe you are using Norton to protect your whole network. There has to be connections for every device you are using Norton to protect. Now that you have blocked the connections and stop your whole network, you don't have a use for Norton if you have blocked your Network.

Google can be your friend if you want to have one.

I'm security espert I use Wireshark to monitor all connections and if one of them moves I rip my modem out of the wall and hide under my bed.
