Tool bar issue with Firefox in Windows 8 but not Windows 7

I have the same version of Firefox on a Windows 7 machine and a new Windows 8 machine.  The Norton Tool Bar with Identity Safe functions perfectly only on the Windows 7 machine.  Firefox on the Windows 8 machine states that the Norton tool bar and Identity Safe are incompatibile with Firefox. (Norton 1 and N360 work fine on both machines.)

Anyone else seen this?

Be sure you have run LiveUpdate, rebooting as necessary until no updates are available.

It is possible that Firefox was updated before the patch to Norton was installed. This often causes problems that require uninstalling Firefox, updating Norton, then reinstalling Firefox.

Brilliant!  I removed Firefox, ran Live Update, reinstalled Firefox.  I was then allowed to "enable" the Norton Tool Bar and Norton Vulnerability Protection add-ons.  Thanks.

You are welcome.

This has been a bit of a thorn in our sides since Mozilla decided to move to the very frequent upgrade path. All software that has to work with Firefox has to constantly retest and validate their code to make sure it works with the new versions.
