toolbar slows surfing

Your computer tech just did a computer scan 11/3 9:30am that took 4 hours without telling me. If he told me I would have said no. I do it monthly. It wasted my entire work day and could not work. STILL THE SAME PROBLEM. I disabled the Norton toolbar and all is fine now except Norton still opens very slow.

Norton Security opens slow. Often times it won't load on tool bar and ie won't open and I have to restart computer. Often times Norton log in icon won't work and I have to restart the computer. Get support icon opens slow. Often times Norton Security opens to a black screen. Like this for 3 days now.

Everything Norton tech did on the 2nd did nothing. It needs to be reinstalled.
Norton refuses to do it.

Re: toolbar slows surfing

When you say Norton refuses to do it, do you mean the support tech did not want to reinstall your product for you? Or are you having trouble installing the product yourself?

If you are looking to do a reinstall, download and run the Norton Removal and Reinstall Tool from    www.norton.com/nrnr    Be sure you read the before you begin section, and run LiveUpdate manually a few times, restarting as necessary, until no updates are available. Run this tool from a Windows admin account.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Thanks, but it should not be up to me to delete it. I pay Norton extra for that. Works fine with Chrome but not IE. If Norton updates don't fix it soon, MacAfee will delete for me and I'll be done with Norton and there sarcastic tech's.

Do you have more than one security product on your computer? Even trial versions that come with a new computer can interfere with Norton, and cause the slowness issue you are seeing. You need to fully remove anything else with the removal utility for that software.

Did you ask the Norton tech to reinstall, and then they refused?

Hello

Are you sure you contacted Norton Tech? If you looked for the chat number in a Search system, often they are companies which claim to be Norton, but are not affiliated with Norton. Did you use www.norton.com/chat ?

Thanks.
