ToolBar will not update for FF39 Support!

Hello ALL:

I have a strange issue. I have 2 older systems with XP and NS on them. All was OK, but when I updated to FireFox 39, it disabled the toolbar saying I need an update. It is on 2015.2.1.13. I forced live update but it says I am current. How can I make this work again? I was on live chat but they sent me a link that just tells me to keep running live update!

If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is!

What version of NS do you have?

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Hello MPSAN

If the XP computers are on 22.5.0.124, then you have to keep trying live update a few times and restart, then run live update again a few times. Keep doing this for a few cycles to see if the update for the Norton Toolbar Add-On comes thru.

If that doesn't work, then remove NS with the removal tool. Then reinstall with the download button in your Norton Account. Then you will have a fresh copy. Run Live Update until no more updates restarting when necessary. Hopefully, reinstalling will bring the new toolbar add-on down. Thanks.

Re: ToolBar will not update for FF39 Support!

I have NS 22.2.0.31 on BOTH my XP systems. It installed the expected 22.5.0.124 on my Win 8.1 system. I do not know why it stays at 22.2.0.31 on XP. I do not see why I would have to reload NS. Why did it not update? Is there an issue with NS and XP?

Re: ToolBar will not update for FF39 Support!

Another thing is when I go to Manage.Norton.com and log in I see my 3 systems. SERVICES shows my 3 systems...1 win 8.1 and 2 XP systems.

If I go to Devices, it shows win 8.1 and a computer screen with a check mark and Windows XP-1 and Windows XP-2. But they do show online but instead of a check mark I get an X. So what can be wrong. Doesn't NS support XP?

Try going into Norton Settings on the red-x machines and confirm that Remote Management is still enabled - Sometimes it gets switched off after an upgrade - which can (in some cases) lead to the red-x showing at the Management site.

Failing that, try signing out of your Norton Account on Product main GUI - then reboot - after reboot, go back into your Product main GUI and sign back into your Norton Account - Reboot again - After second reboot go back into settings and verify Remote Management is still enabled.  Lastly, re-check status at the Management site.

No, all seems OK! I see that someone else is having this same issue in a new post using Win 8.1! I still do not know what the red X means on my 2 XP systems in Manage.Norton.Com.

Hello

If you have an older type of CPU, then it might not  update to 22.5. The idea of installing NS again is that if you use the download from your Norton Account, then you should get the latest version of NS installed on the XP computers. Thanks
