Trying to disable automatic renew but can't seem to find it?

I'm purchasing a new subscription pretty soon but been told that I need to turn off the automatic renew for my current subscription. I can't seem to find the slider to disable automatic Renewal in My Subscriptions, all I find is this Renew Now button and when I go to my Automatic Renewal Setting I am taken back to My Subscriptions. Does this Renew Now button mean my current subscription has automatic renewal turned off/disabled?

maybe, Sign Out > Sign In again or try a different browser

and remove Billing Information, too.

I've been trying to do this but all I keep seeing is this Renew Now button next to my current subscription instead of the Automatic Renew slider. I'll try to see if changing to a different browser will work.

Also I removed my billing info, could that be the cause of why I'm not seeing the Automatic Renew slider?

I have no Billing Information and see slider with click Automatic Renewal Settings.

I signed out and signed in and I'm not seeing the Automatic Renew slider. I tried using different browsers and still seeing this Renew Now button. I don't know why I'm not seeing the slider on my account.

My current subscription will end in 12 days could that be another reason why I don't see the Automatic Renew slider?

have you checked your credit card account....maybe, you've been billed....removing billing info in your Norton account may not stop reoccurring payment....not stop already scheduled payment.

Note: as far as I know....users have 60 days refund on renewals, too.

Norton products (including subscriptions and Automatic Renewals) may be refunded within 60 days of the purchase date. Shipping, handling, and any applicable tax are not refundable except in certain states and countries where these items are refundable. For exceptions, read the full Return Policy.

Re: Trying to disable automatic renew but can't seem to find it?

I cancelled my credit card account 8 months ago so I doubt they billed me. Honestly I have no idea why I'm seeing this Renew Now button instead of the Automatic Renew slider..... maybe it's a bug. I'll see if live chat can help.

Re: Trying to disable automatic renew but can't seem to find it?

Card was used in the past for Norton payment.

Norton payment processor doesn't know you cancelled card thru card issuer.

Norton account doesn't know you cancelled card.

Is that why I'm not able to see the Automatic Renew slider? Is there a solution to this?

What a headache this turned out. I'll see if live chat can help sort this situation out. Also I just remembered I believe after I received a refunded and then purchased my current subscription, I'm pretty sure I might have turned off the Automatic Renewal. Still it does doesn't explain why I can't see the slider.

I think I might have found the problem........ do you need to register for automatic renewal online?

Re: Trying to disable automatic renew but can't seem to find it?

as far as I recall direct from Norton.com purchases sets Automatic Renewal On.

and when you initially setup your Norton account.   I don't recall default status of Automatic Renewal.
I'll guess default is On.   Maybe, first time adding payment information offers Automatic Renewal slider.
Sorry, it's been years since.

I think there should be an Automatic Renewal slider On n' Off.
I've not heard of no slider.  And I don't remember (years since) my account setup.
Sorry

Re: Trying to disable automatic renew but can't seem to find it?

I'm seeing that I need to enroll and it'll give me 3 month extension. If that's not it then back to the drawing board.

Again I'm seeing only Renew Now button

Thanks for all your suggestions.

Just to confirm. Are you seeing the same page that bjm_ posted in his first image above with the My Subscription tab?

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Yes but the only thing that I don't see is instead of the Automatic Renew slider I see this Renew Now button where the slider is suppose to be located.

Re: Trying to disable automatic renew but can't seem to find it?

Also I'm seeing this right below my current subscription * Restrictions apply. Must be enrolled in the Automatic Renewal service online. See Norton.com/guarantee for details.

I don't know if you or anyone else is seeing that.

Re: Trying to disable automatic renew but can't seem to find it?

You are enrolled in the Automatic Renewal service when you purchase Norton from the Norton Online store, or when you first set up Norton after purchasing from a retail store, or a Symantec affiliated online third-party website. You can also enable Norton Automatic Renewal by signing in to your Norton account or contacting Norton Support.

You must fill your billing details to enable Norton Automatic Renewal service.

https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/norton-renewal-purchase/current/solutions/v113802545

Virus Protection Promise: To be eligible for the Virus Protection Promise, you must have a qualifying Norton subscription and unless you have Norton Small Business, you must also have purchased, renewed or upgraded that Norton subscription directly from Symantec, or activate automatic renewal with Symantec. If a Norton expert is unable to remove the virus from your device, then you may receive a refund based on the actual price paid for the current term of your qualifying Norton subscription. If you purchase a Norton bundle (a qualifying Norton subscription purchased with another Norton offering), your refund will be limited to the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of your qualifying Norton subscription for the current term, not to exceed the total bundled price paid. Or, if your bundled purchase contains a qualifying Norton subscription with a non-Norton product, your refund will be limited to the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of only your Norton qualifying subscription for the current term, not to exceed the total bundled price paid. Any refund will be net of any discounts or refunds received and less any shipping, handling and applicable taxes, except in certain states and countries where shipping, handling and taxes are refundable. The refund does not apply to any damages incurred as a result of viruses. See Norton.com/guarantee for details including qualifying Norton subscriptions.

Support told me awhile back....before requesting help under Virus Protection Promise.... check that Automatic Renewal is On.  Then afterwards....set Automatic Renewal to user preference.

Um, have you contacted Support?

Re: Trying to disable automatic renew but can't seem to find it?

I haven't contacted support yet since I'm not on my computer right now. Since my subscription doesn't tell me if I have Automatic Renewal on or off (only Renew Now button is visible), can I still livechat with norton support?

Re: Trying to disable automatic renew but can't seem to find it?

I'm not home yet but I think I found a possible answer (number 2 and I'm pretty sure I cancelled automatic renewal right after I was issued a refund) -----> If a refund is issued, You can choose to either (1) cancel your subscription and we will waive any applicable early termination fees for the then-current subscription term, or (2) maintain Your subscription service and continue paying for the remainder of the term (if applicable) and any subsequent renewal terms (unless you later elect to cancel automatic renewal so that Your then-current subscription term does not auto renew).

I'll contact norton support tomorrow for more details. Thank you.
