Unblocking

Hi

I accidently blocked my computer and want to unblock it. I've found some info that says to "Disable AutoProtect for temporary purpose.- Go to Security History, check if the program is present in Quarantine." Where do i find "disable autoprotect?

Thanks, Neil

Re: Unblocking

What message are you seeing about your computer being blocked? If you can, post a screenshot.

Instructions to post screenshots can be found here

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: Unblocking

Block your computer? You mean you computer physically? Like you blocked it from another pc? You do you mean the "My computer" folder? If you right click on the system tray icon you will see the option to disable auto protect and the firewall. My computer goes back to the XP days.

Re: Unblocking

Disabling Auto-Protect before restoring an item from Quarantine assumes that the item is malicious and that Norton would otherwise immediately remove the item again.  It would be helpful if you could clarify what files were removed and what threat was detected before you attempt to undo the action.

Re: Unblocking

Hi all

Thank you so much to those who made helpful suggestions. After a bit of investigation, I found out I had inadvertently block Google Chrome but after rebooting my MacBookPro, it's all working well. Thanks again for your help.

Cheers, Neil

Re: Unblocking

Ummmm ok. Never said this was on a Mac. You also said you blocked My Computer. Glad it is fixed.
