version 22.9.4.8 patch may take time installing

Patch liveupdate version 22.9.4.8 may take some time to finish installing, like maybe 5 to 7 minutes.  Just be patient.  Window saying "closing applications" remained on display for about that long (time was not precisely measured).

Windows 10, tower-form type of computer, Norton Security

That 'closing applications' page will come up when you have a browser open that Norton features are protecting. If you go ahead and close the browser or what ever app listed in that page, the process will move ahead. It seems that there is some time out setting that will automatically close those apps to get the update finished.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Maybe it's just me, but I never use the "rebootless" patch option.

It's always quicker for me to just restart the system.

Hello

Me also. I just click Apply Later and restart when I want to after I have closed all my browsers and programs that were running or opened. And always check for more updates after the restart.

Thanks.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view. Windows 7 Pro 64 bit NSBU 22.17.0.183 Core Firmware 282 I E 11 Chrome latest version.
