Virus Definitions

Hi. I'm new to this group.  I did want to ask if anyone can tell me how I can determine if I have the latest Norton virus definitions?  Thank  you.

Re: Virus Definitions

Look at your main Norton Security screen and you will see a notification for the Protection Updates. As long as it says Current you are up to date. One feature of the newer Norton products is that while connected to the internet, your product is connected to Norton servers to pull up to the minute definition information that is even more current than the limited definitions maintained on your computer.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: Virus Definitions

Hi Marty,

You can also check the latest release  here http://us.norton.com/security_response/definitions.jsp?pid=ns_win

To check the version installed on the computer, here is the path on my machine - You should change the name of my Norton product with yours if different (maybe without backup?), and its version when it  was installed on your machine:

C:\Program Files\Norton Security with backup\NortonData\22.5.0.124\Definitions\VirusDefs

Hope it helps.

Windows 7 HP SP1 32-bit | Chrome 65.0.3325.146 | NS 22.12.1.15

Re: Virus Definitions

Thank you. The latest definitions are d/l'ed when I do Live Update and not as Norton instructed (Norton said to go Intelligent Updater but that is not a part of my Norton software).  Marty
