Web attack: Formjacking Website 2

So, this morning I went to a website and got the notification from Norton about an intrusion attempt.  The notification was about a web attack: formjacking website 2.  I closed my firefox browser right afterwards.  Am I safe from infection after closing the browser?  Does it only run while the browser is running?  Do I need to worry about having a malware now?   Thanks.

Re: Web attack: Formjacking Website 2

Hello Trace. Your computer is NOT actually infected with these types of notifications as they are code injections embedded in unknowing websites. Have a look at this Symantec article for reference. Closing your browser, and clearing its cache should remove all traces of the javascript files associated with it. Your Norton product protected you as it should. Here is another reference for you regarding these attacks just for info.

Cheers
