How do I open an MCF file so I can browse it's contents?
Where did you get this file? If it is from an unkown source, you should probably just delete it.
If you trust the source, see if this helps
Isn't that the format that Norton security history export/imports in?
I just ran a scan and exported the results and it was a .txt file. Which History items are you exporting?
Or are you thinking of the Identity Safe vault export/import? That is either a .dat or a .csv file.
No, specifically "Security History".

I see now. Yes, the History export files are .mcf files.
If you want to see the contents of this file, I would suggest you use the Import link from your Norton History page.
Thank you. You are right. I feel pretty silly that I didn't just import the file but I am new to NORTON so I have an excuse
If future change "Save as type" to txt and Export as text. Open in Notepad.
I have just sent a note to another community member who has drawn my attention to the same point you have made. Thanks for your help. I feel pretty silly that I should have merely imported but I am new to NORTON so I'll use that as an excuse.
