Why can't I ad to my Norton Security Devices?

I just got Norton Security 2016. When I try to "Install on another device" it asks for an email address to send a link to. I entered my email address, address@telus.net, but the site looked greyed-out and would not continue. What is wrong?

Re: Why can't I ad to my Norton Security Devices?

One problem solved.

It seems the website will not accept an email that is already registered on the site, to send the install link to, for adding another device. That is what the Support Guy told me. However stupid, this reason seems to be true. I finally got them to email a link to me, instead of the bull$h1t they suggested. I had been asking them to do that for two days. Then it only took me a few minutes to install it.

I have roughly 8-12 hours of waiting on hold, listening to the same non relative crap, two days to get these jerks to send me the link I asked for. I expect the same from this unimpressive software. I still have to figure it out. There is no controls I have found, in the App. (ie: scan my phone). I tried the option to find my phone. The App literally told me a phone location that is 4 city blocks from the phone. I don't think I have any more GPS related stuff to turn on, to help locate it. Knowing my phone is somewhere within a 4 block radius seems to be COMPLETELY USELESS. How is that supposed to help get my phone?

As I said I still have to study the App, but it also doesn't seem to have standard options these type of App.'s have, like have the phone take and send you a bunch of pictures or a live video stream, to help identify the thief or phone location, etc.

Not impressed yet!

Re: Why can't I ad to my Norton Security Devices?

Hi Buck

To initiate a scan on your phone, you need to pull down on the big green circle on the main Norton Mobile Security screen. I know this is not intuitive, and I have reported it to the team to be addressed in a future update.

The options for Sneak Peak you mention are country specific, and may not be available by law in your location. If they are allowed you find those features on the NMS web site.  https://mobilesecurity.norton.com

The location features work fine on my HTC phone on Android 4.4.2. What phone and Android version are you using.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: Why can't I ad to my Norton Security Devices?

I don't have a green circle. I have an iPhone 5c. If I'm reading the Norton Page telling what features you have on Android and then on iPhones. Android does EVERYTHING, iPhone has only Anti-Theft, and Backup. The Anti-Theft option brings up a list:

1. Locate your device. Locate your device option, on the webpage, says my phone is on an as yet unfinished road 1/2 MILE FROM MY PHONE. How is that wrong location going to help locate my phone? If I open my Maps on my phone, it shows my location as MY HOUSE, and always shows exactly where I am. Why is this App not using my phone to find my phone?

2. Remote call. Why not just call the phone?

3. Remote scream. This is only helpful if it is very close by, like under your pillow.

THAT IS ALL I GOT! What happened to scan my phone? Where are all the promised options like Sneak Peek, Remote Lock, Remote Wipe, SIM Card Lock, Call and Text Blocker, and where are the settings for everything. There aren't even any settings for email scans.

Did they only give me 1/10th of the program? Why? Where is all the stuff advertised? THIS APPEARS TO BE AN "ANDROID ONLY APP"! None of the useful stuff is available for iPhones, though you would never know it from the ad.

Re: Why can't I ad to my Norton Security Devices?

I did not realize you were using an IOS device. As you say, there are very few features for the IOS version of Norton Mobile Security. If you look at the web page for NMS, there is  a notice that most features are only for Android, unless noted otherwise.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
