Why does password manager keep asking me to save the new password when i have NOT changed it

Why does password manager keep asking me to save the new password when i have NOT changed it. This happens on nearly every site i visit, which is very annoying, especially one time when i accidentally said yes, causing me to go to a password reset process for that site. I normally use Chrome but also seems to happen with Edge or Brave

Hello Ian. FWIW, the Brave browser isn't officially supported by the NPWM. Please see this article. Do you have the browser password managers disabled in Chrome and Edge as well?

Cheers

Hello, yes I realise Brave may not be supported. Not sure I understand what you mean by "Do you have the browser password managers disabled in Chrome and Edge as well?". I would have thought if that was the case i couldn't use the password manager at all in either product? Note: this problem also occurs with Firefox.

It doesn't occur in every login i use and can be intermittent.

In saying that, it always occurs for my internet banking login at Westpac.

Ian. Although I'm not 100% sure this will correct your problem its a good place to start. Clear the browser caches and cookies on both browsers as well. You can find that in settings for each browser.

I don't use Chrome therefore I cannot offer a screenshot for you. Many apologies.

Re: Why does password manager keep asking me to save the new password when i have NOT changed it

Hello, I appreciate your help but this problem is related to Norton Password Manager only.

I do not use Chrome or Edge password manager for sensitive sites.

I did clear the cache but that didn't have any effect
