Windows 10 back-up should point to 'Documents' folder, not 'My Documents'

Hi,

I recently transferred over to Windows 10 and everything in Norton worked pretty much fine, including Norton Identity Safe. Just one minor thing: I tried exporting my Identity Safe data to my PC and the backup file was deposited in a newly created 'My Documents' folder - correct for Windows 7, but now duplicating the 'Documents' folder (as Microsoft have renamed the former in Windows 10). Could you issue an update so the backup points to the right place and avoids doubling up?

Thanks alot.

Hello poweruser

May I suggest to you that you put that idea into the Program Suggestions Forum. New ideas have a better chance of being seen by Symantec Employees than in this Forum. We are mainly a user to user Forum.

Thanks.

I tried a Vault backup on my Win 10 laptop. I'm not sure I understand your issue. The first backup I did brought up the Save dialog box and as you say it just showed the Documents folder and I had to choose the Norton folder within Documents. The next time I did a backup it did go right to the Norton folder.

Is there something else you are seeing or wanting to happen?

Thanks, Peterweb. I meant to say 'Automatic Backup'. As per link below, this seem currently set up for Windows 7 still, with deposit location: Users\<User Name>\My Documents\Norton Identity Safe Backups\<Norton account name>

Re: Windows 10 back-up should point to 'Documents' folder, not 'My Documents'

From my Online vault settings on the Import/Export page, when I click on the link for Backups Folder beside the setting for Automatic backups, the dialog box still brought me to the original backup files I had before I updated to Win 10. It is now in the Documents folder.

Did you do a clean install of Win 10 and then install Norton? I just updated my Win 7 system, so maybe the change was detected with the update.
