Windows Core Isolation cannot be started

Without recommendation, I run Norton Security and Windows Security and they seem to run together fine on my Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon, 6th Gen, with Windows 10, Core I7 VPro, 8th Gen, Digging a little deeper into Windows Security -> Device Security, I found Core Isolation. When trying to turn on Core Isolation, a popup arrives saying "Memory Integrity Cannot Be Started; There may be in incompatibility on your system".   Via chat, I asked Norton Support if my version of Norton may be the incompatibility. They insisted it was not Norton preventing Core isolation from starting.  Sorry, but I'm not convinced.  If not Norton, what is then?

On the same page, Windows Security -> Device Security, at the bottom is says "Standard hardware security not supported".  My next stop will be Lenovo to inquire what that means for their pricey laptop.  But first, can anybody help me from a Norton perspective please?  Obviously, I'm not that knowledgeable, so if you'd please put your response in that context it would greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Re: Windows Core Isolation cannot be started

Hello little_paranoid. What is your version and build of Windows 10?

Edited: Please read the following article regarding your issue. My laptop also doesn't have the hardware to support Core Isolation per my screenshot. I have VM enabled in the BIOS as well.

Cheers

Re: Windows Core Isolation cannot be started

Did you also review this article I referred to?  For Core isolation to be enabled the following pre-requisites must be met:

This means your device supports memory integrity and core isolation and also has:

  • TPM 2.0 (also referred to as your security processor) - HERE
  • Secure boot enabled - HERE
  • DEP - HERE
  • UEFI MAT - HERE

Cheers
