Windows Firewall

I'm having problems with Windows Powershell like search and other programs not working.  One of the fixes I've found on the internet involves entering a command at the PS c:\windows\system32>   prompt.  The resulting process indicates that installations failed because windows firewall is not active.  Do I need to uninstall Norton so I can enable windows firewall?

Forgot to mention I'm in Windows 10.

Re: Windows Firewall

If you have Norton or any other security program installed, it disables the Windows Firewall. I think you need to look around a little more on this issue you are seeing.

What are you trying to install that gives the Windows firewall not working message?

There may be something amiss on your Win 10 installation. Click on Start and type CMD in the search box. Right click on cmd.exe and click on Run as Administrator. Type 'sfc /scannow' without the quotes. This will check your Windows installation and try to correct any errors it finds.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
