Your Trial Version has Expired.

I'm extremely frustrated with my Norton product  -  for the past week I have been getting different (error & other) messages.

It started with Error: "8504,104"

Your Trial Version has expired ( I did not have  trial Version).

You have exceeded your 2 Licenses.  I installed one on my Win7 & Win XP.  Working  on both computers from February 2018 (although I did have a problem earlier) - stopped working on WinXP last week.

So I uninstalled and reinstalled -  without success.

Used Help Center - - Norton autofix - Repair result - Internet Connectivity - failed. (I am connected to the Internet).

When I login to My Account.  I can see the computer I'm working on.  It say it is Offline and Inactive -when I try to activate it, it does not work.

Would appreciate any help to solve this problem(s).

PS: using Norton Security Premium

Re: Your Trial Version has Expired.

F 4 E,

Thanks for those suggestions - unfortunately still have not resolved my problem.

Have not been able to use the http://norton.com/chat - as I'm hearing impaired - so if they were to contact me via phone I would not be able to communicate with them.

My OH is not really computer savvy so I will probably have to wait until someone in the family can help me.

Yesterday I tried installing using the Key - no success there.

Thanks

Re: Your Trial Version has Expired.

F 4 E,

Problem still not solved..... I contacted Chat - via that link - got two helpful people (I lost contact with one) - anyway I then had a Chat with another person, who spent a lot of time with me....Unfortunately in the end problem was not resolved.

I will try and contact them again....However in the mean time I need some help to get the problem Device back in my account.

The reason is because in the process of trying different things I deleted this device and then tried to reinstall from the  original Key, but did not work.

Do I need to start a new Thread and try and explain what I have done. I did try searching through "Threads" but could not find what I was looking for.

I'm a little concerned because I don't have any Antivirus on my WinXP (going on 2 weeks now) - I do have Windows Defender - will that keep the gremlins out of my machine.

Re: Your Trial Version has Expired.

Hi, Indie. Defender is pretty good these days, so will suffice until you can get Norton working again.

Can you download Norton from your account, and install from there ?

Or try this link, and use your existing key to activate it.   http://www.norton.com/latestns

XP is still supported by Norton so you should be able to use it. However, bear in mind MS no longer supports XP and as far as Norton is concerned, these limitations are now in place..

Any further problems, and we'll try to get one of the Symantec Admins involved.

Re: Your Trial Version has Expired.

Apologies for this late reply......

F 4 E,  I could not download Norton from my account to install from there.

Glad XP is supported by Norton. I know XP is not supported by Firefox, Chrome  browsers now.  However I'm in a spot of bother - because I have lots of Genealogy information collected over the years.  Also CD's with records for the same and they are not compatible with other Windows, they are quite expensive to buy new.

I was becoming so frustrated with the my Norton problem - that I decided to uninstalled Norton from this machine.  A message came up to leave Feedback - OpinionLab - so I filled in the form saying what problems I was having.  A few days later I tried my Norton product again - this time I was able to get to the run Live-update page - which I have not been able to for about 2 weeks.

I ran Live-update and have been able to get all the updates - it took quite a few attempts to get all of them - because it kept freezing on me. Not to mention the time it took to  download them.

The short story is that  my Norton is back to working normally. I have no idea why it went off the rails like it did.

The "Chat" group tried to help me so I'm grateful to them - as well as to yourself.

So once again many thanks.
