Identity Safe not working with Chrome/Capital One but IE works

I have had this problem forever, and it does not seem specific tothe version of Chrome I'm using.  I've updated several versions of Chrome, and they all behave the same way.  Currently, I'm running the following:

1) Norton Security with Backup: 22.5.4.24

2) Chrome: 46.0.2490.86 

3) IE: 11.0.9600.18098

IE does have the same issue at times, but usually is the one I have to use to log into Capital One's site.  Both Chrome and IE get "filled in" by Identity Safe, but Chrome fails Authentication by Capital One.  Chrome ALWAYS fails, but IE will typically work after a re-try or two.  It's frustrating.  What's the sense of having the safe if it won't work?  Shutting off the safe and manually typing in the id/password with Chrome works fine. Chrome on its own has no issues and I get into Captial One just fine WITHOUT the safe enabled.  Maybe I should just migrate to Lastpass??

The current version of the Norton products is 22.5.5.15. You are several updates behind. If you have a current license, I can give you a link to get the current version or the one before it since the current version just started to be given out on Wed. in a phased manner to the English speaking countries first. You can try to get the latest version by using this link.   www.norton.com/latestnsbu   Please remember to run live update a few times and reboot a few times. Also, it would be best to use your Administrator account.

I'll see if I can get one of the Admins to help out with getting your Chrome to work better and to  work with Capitol One. You may have to give some logs to Norton or let them access your computer. I'll see what I can do.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view. Windows 10 Pro 64 bit Norton Core Security Plus 22.17.3.50 Core Firmware 282 I E 11 Chrome latest version.

Thank you very much for your reply.

I updated the version to 25.5.5.15, and the same thing happens.

My steps were as follows:

1) Have Identity Safe open

2) Have Identity Safe fill in the username/password at the Capital One Log-in site (it then fails).

3) Copy my password from Identify Safe (just to verify it's correct), then Turn Off the Identify safe.

4) While chrome browser is still running, close the previous tab, open a new tab.  Go to the Capital One site again, enter my username, and PASTE in the password I previously copied from Identity Safe (the Safe is still "Turned Off" at this point), and it works (I log-in without issue).

So, there seems to be a design issue.  It's not the version that was the issue, nor something that was "fixed" in the latest version.

Has Sunil responded to you so quickly? Since it's a Bank that you are having a issue with, some sites for security reasons can tell when an automatic sign in occurs. They want you to manually in put your user name and password. As you say, after thinking over that it is a Bank that is causing the problem, it might be on purpose that it is working that way.

Since you updated to the newest version, please make sure you run Live Update a few times. Also please go over the settings in case they have changed since your previous version.

Thanks for reporting this issue. Please help me understand the issue. When you say "it then fails", do you mean after Norton Toolbar auto fills the Username/Password the website rejects the Username/Password as incorrect? Is there any error message on failure?

After Identity Safe fills in the information, and then I attempt to get into the site, I get this Error message from the Capital One web-page:

The information you entered does not match what we have on file. Please try again or use the "Forgot User name" or "Forgot Password" links below for login help.

I also turned-off "Auto Submit" figuring there might be a race condition.  However, that didn't fix it either.  I still get the same error.

If it is a site specific problem you need to let the ID Safe team know. Be sure you note that it is only the one browser giving you problems.

You can report the site to the ID Safe team from your product.

Navigate to the login page you are having problems with. Then click on Vault is Open on the Norton Toolbar. Then click on Options beside Current Site. From there click on Report an issue with this site. Then follow the directions.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
