Mobile Unlock

The desktop Password Manager kept prompting me to enable the Mobile Unlock feature.  I set it up, but my cell phone doesn't get a notification.  Any ideas?

Thanks.

Re: Mobile Unlock

What browser are you using when you see this message to set up the Mobile Unlock feature? If you see that message again, please post a screenshot to help us understand what you are seeing.

What OS are you using and version?

Re: Mobile Unlock

Hi @TSMac,

Can you please provide details requested by our forum guru "peterweb"?

- Mobile Device (Android/iOS)

I set it up, but my cell phone doesn't get a notification.  Any ideas?

If the notification for the Norton Password Manager app is disabled in your iOS device, you will not receive the notification. Please Enable the notification for Norton Password Manager in your iOS device and relaunch the app.

Re: Mobile Unlock

Same problem. Windows 10, Edge Browser. Samsung Galaxy S8. No notification on the phone. try to log in to vault as usual with password but just get the spinning circle forever, click the icon again and told mobile signal failed to send. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling mobile app and removing device on desktop and setting up again to no avail.

Re: Mobile Unlock

@Jaya

Just checked logging into my vault from Chrome extension and it worked as advertised.

Thanks for the update.

EDIT

Just checked with Firefox and Edge and it also worked as it should.

@Jaya

Same problem.

Windows 10, Edge Browser. Samsung Galaxy S8.

When I try to log to the vault I get a message: "Su solicitud fue enviada a su dispositivo móvil" (your request was sent to your mobile device) but I see no notification on my phone.

I can log in to the vault typing the password.

Check that you have Notifications allowed for your Norton Password Manager in Android Settings on the mobile device.

Re: Mobile Unlock

Do you have an active internet connection on the mobile device? Wifi or cell data?

Re: Mobile Unlock

I have a wifi active connection. I tried with the data connection with no luck.

If I look at the Configuration of Mobile Unlock I see four devices Galaxy S8 (SM-G950F). I own only one.

Re: Mobile Unlock

Hi SriHarshaA, Apologies for not letting you all know sooner, it all works for me excellently now (started working on Friday) in fact the unlock request is sent as soon as the PC has booted up before I open Edge Browser.

This is just the solution I needed as I always forgot to log onto Password Manager when I started browsing.

Thank You

Hello @SriHarshaA

I reinstalled Norton Password Manager in Edge and in my phone.

I too used Chrome.

The problem continues.

When I configure Mobile Unlock in browser I see 3 devices Galaxy S8 (SM-G950F).

I have been thinking about this multiple devices showing. If you have multiple instances of your device showing, you may be choosing the 'wrong' instance for this feature.

Try logging into your Norton Account at   https://my.norton.com  and check the list of devices shown there. If you have more than one instance of your mobile device, remove them all from the devices page. Then go back to your mobile device and log back into your Norton Account from your Norton Password Manager app. Then try to register for the Mobile Lock again to see if you only see one instance of your mobile device that you can use to register for Mobile Unlock.

Re: Mobile Unlock

Hello @SriHarshaA.

I logged to my account but I can not see my devices. There is not option to see my phones.

I can see my devices when I configure Norton Password Manager in Edge extension. But in Edge extension I can not delete the phones.

Re: Mobile Unlock

FYI The @user function does not work in these forums for regular users. Gurus and employees/admins are the only ones that can use that feature.

Just an observation. Your first post noted 4 instances of your mobile device, and your follow up post notes 3. Did one disappear after you reinstalled NPM?

Do you have any Norton Security products on PC's or your mobile device?

When logged into your Norton Account, did you click on View Devices? That should bring up a page of all devices on your subscription.

Another place to check would be the Subscriptions page in your Norton Account. Click on the user icon at the top right, then click My Subscriptions. On the next page, click on Manage Licences and check the list that comes up for multiple instances of your mobile device. If it is shown more than once, click the trash can beside them all to remove them, then log back into your Account from the Norton Mobile Security app and try the Mobile Unlock setup again.

Re: Mobile Unlock

Thank you for your detailed response.

Sorry, I was wrong in the previous post. I see 4 devices (Attached image 1.png).

I don't have any Norton security product on my PC nor on my phone, except Norton Password Manager.

When logged into my Norton Account and I have not the option to View Devices (Attached images 2.png and 3.png).

Maybe If I delete the vault and I re-create it the problem is solved?

Thank you for your help and sorry about my english.

Re: Mobile Unlock

I was finally able to solve it!!!
I selected the third device on the list.
When I clicked to open the vault the wheel started spinning non-stop.  I clicked again and magically my phone received the message and everything went well.

It's not perfect but it works.

Re: Mobile Unlock

I thought it might be something like that. Not sure why you have multiple devices showing as available to the Mobile Unlock feature.

But the good news is you figured it out.

From your image 2, what do you see when you click on the blue View Devices link, the same as my first image above? One more screenshot please to help us understand what is happening.

Re: Mobile Unlock

In image 2 there is not View Devices link. There is a link to access to the vault ("Acceder al deposito" in spanish). Is not the same as your image. Image 2 is what I see when I log into my Norton account: My Norton ("Mi Norton" in spanish).

In the 2 attached images there is not View Devices link.

I attach 2 news images.

Re: Mobile Unlock

Your new images show a blue "ver dispositivos" link on the first image. A Google translation shows that as 'See Devices'. That is the link I want you to click on. That should list the multiple phones if they are somehow recorded in your Norton Account.

Re: Mobile Unlock

Ok. I understand. I talked about the other link related to Norton Password Manager.

I attach an image to show you what I see If I follow the link "Ver dispositivos". There is nothing.

Re: Mobile Unlock

Well, I still cannot figure out why you have multiple devices showing. But, as you have things working, we should probably just leave things alone.

We are here if you need us again.

Re: Mobile Unlock

One last observation.
I reset my Samsung S8 and reinstalled the Norton Password Manager app.
When I tried to activate Mobile Unlock on Edge I saw 5 Galaxy S8 devices (SM-G950F). A new device was added.
I selected the last one on the list and everything worked fine.

Re: Mobile Unlock

Not sure if you want to mess with what is working now, but you could contact Norton Support and ask them to help with removing the extra instances of your phone listed.    www.norton.com/contactcs

If you do try this, please let us know what they were able to do, and how they did it.
