Re: Default Block EPMAP

pokkii This is just your computer doing its normal business and Norton doing it business. Please have a look at this thread with the same issue and its solution:

Download and run this program just to make sure you do not have a hidden infection. https://www.malwarebytes.com/

Re: Default Block EPMAP

I checked one IP and it's probably laptop. My brother use it and I'm sure it's full of viruses. Am I infected already or norton just blocked all of it and don't need to worry about it?

Re: Default Block EPMAP

pokkii  To ensure you are not infected run Malwarebytes from the link I provided in the previous post. If you believe your brother is also infected run it on there as well. Get his system clean since it can allow infections to propagate into your network to other users.

On each computer that has Norton installed run Power Eraser from within the Norton dashboard. DO NOT download the standalone version since it is a VERY aggressive tool and CAN cause a system to become non-bootable if the wrong things are deleted which are false positives. Please see my screenshot:

Re: Default Block EPMAP

I have a a small paranoia with download anything on my pc :/ Never download anything just a few safe applications. But I used this malwer scan on my brother laptop and I found 650 problems. And I use NPE on my pc and never find anything

Re: Default Block EPMAP

pokkii Run Malwarebytes on your system. The download IS safe and recommended here by many. Peace of mind is the objective.

Re: Default Block EPMAP

I wanted to scan my pc with NPE today but I got msg "you need a new version and you can download it here" I updated my norton was able to use NPE in application. I used Malwarebytes aswell and found 0 problems. But after I use it I found many pops in norton history about block malwarebytes. I think it's normal because norton block everything what trying to access my pc right?

Re: Default Block EPMAP

Norton shouldn't block Malwarebytes. Add Malwarebytes to the exclusion listing in settings for Norton. Add it in "Items to exclude from auto-protect, SONAR, and download intelligence" buy clicking "Configure" just to the right of it. Re-run Malwarebytes again.

Re: Default Block EPMAP

The file blocked by norton is "MBAMSERVICE.exe" It popped when I wanted to install it. I don't think it could affect on scan. I'll try one more online scanner just to make sure

Re: Default Block EPMAP

That file is the executable for Malwarebytes. Add it to the exclusion area I posted about earlier in Norton. Run Malwarebytes.

Re: Default Block EPMAP

The Norton history showing the block of the MBAM files is normal. MBAM is trying to scan/access a Norton file or process. Norton's Product Tamper Protection feature is blocking that and logging it in History. Nothing to worry about.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
