Mystery Computer

Hi there, There are times when I open the network tab on either of my 2 computers and notice an additional computer named austin with the mac address fc:65:de:ee:67:11 It also mentions amazon when I view the properties??? What is this, is it dangerous, and is there a way I can block this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You for your time, Randy

Re: Mystery Computer

You could change your WiFi password to start with.  Something at least 15 to 20 characters upper and lower case, numbers and symbols.  You can use Norton Password Generator to create one for you.

If you don't use WiFi you could also disable that on your router.  Some routers have a feature that blocks new devices too.

A little bit of knowledge is... well a little bit of knowledge.

Re: Mystery Computer

Hello wisor A screenshot of what you are seeing would be extremely helpful to see. In the interim. Log into your router and disable that computer. While you are there ensure that port 113 is set to not visible. Change BOTH your router login and password as well as your wifi passcode. Reboot your router and recheck for the connection again.

PS- Apologies Krusty our posts crossed

Cheers
