Norton-Symantec and U-verse

I have Symantec and just  U-verse installed.

I have noticed that my U-verse stops whenever I try to log on to the Internet, and when Symantec is disabled all works great!!!

I was told that U-verse uses McFee and I believe these two are not compatible..

Can anyone help

Are there things that I can disable in my Norton Symantec in order for all programs to get along?

Re: Norton-Symantec and U-verse

Hi Ozie, are you referring to McAfee?  If so it needs to be uninstalled and it's removal tool run prior to installing Norton.

Re: Norton-Symantec and U-verse

Yes I meant McAfee!

Clarification:  I use the corp version Symantec anti-virus protection, supplied by my Co. I do not have McAfee on my PC. I used to have 2wire by AT&T 2wire router, i presently switched to AT&T U-verse.. that's when the problem started.. my internet would stop working, I tried everything. than i tried and Disabled my Symantec protection, and everything would work dandy..

I called AT&T tec support! to find out why after the installation of the AT&T U-verse router my anti virus wont cooperate?

The AT&T tec support told me it could be because AT&T U-verse uses McAfee and my fire wall is set too high on my Symantec.. but I still dont get it? because I never installed McAfee on my PC.. so now I am even more in the dark.

Hope I can get resolution soon!

appreciate any help..

Ozie
